Featured Speaker:

Stephanie Westmyer, Ph.D., Training Specialist, Experiential Learning Center (ELC), Marshall School of Business. Learn more about Stephanie’s expertise in the attached bio.

Stephanie uses her mediation and corporate training background to develop conflict resolution and mediation training workshops for college students, corporate executives, and community members. She earned a doctorate degree in Communication from Kent State University and recently earned a Masters in Dispute Resolution from USC’s Gould School of Law.

She taught undergraduate and graduate communication classes for Illinois State University, Kent State University, University of Akron, Methodist College, Biola University, and CSU, Long Beach. She worked as a corporate trainer for In-N-Out Burger and Associated Students, Incorporated. She currently works as the Training Specialist for the Experiential Learning Center at USC’s Marshall School of Business.

Her interest in mediation and conflict resolution developed from a personal experience with a workplace conflict at another organization. The organization’s Ombuds Officer recognized Stephanie’s potential to resolve conflict and encouraged Stephanie to become a certified mediator through Orange County Human Relations.

Stephanie completed the Dispute Resolution Programs Act Certification program and volunteered as a mediator for the Orange County Courts. She also is a Certified Trainer in Workplace Conflict through Eckert College’s Mediation Training Institute and had developed a workplace mediation-training program entitled Climbing Conflict Mountain that she presents to USC staff and students. She also co-created curriculum based on the Matthew 18 Principle of conflict resolution and presents the training seminar to community members.
